How To Create A Mii

The new generation games consoles have many more features than just games playing. Although games remain the prime motivation for getting a console like the Nintendo wii, there are a whole host of other features that attract buyers

You can watch movies on it, browse the internet, download games, upload photos and even communicate with your buddies. Of course this presupposes that the machine is connected to the internet but nevertheless, your humble games console can connect you to the rest of the world and allow you to have sophisticated communications with them. Oh and you can play a few games too.

An aspect that is truly unique to the Nintendo wii is the mii channel. This article will cover what the mii channel is and what a mii is.

When the wii boots up, your tv screen will show a bank of smaller TV screen images. These are known as channels. You can select different channels to do different things. In the case of a mii, you select the mii channel.

If you are wondering what the mii channel is all about then think about it as your representation on the wii machine and in the wider wii community. It a representation of you or rather it is where you create a representation of you.

So, in effect you create your alter ego on the wii, which is called a mii (or a mini me maybe ?). You can create a character that reflects your looks in real life or you can create your fantasy version. You can create more than one mii, if that takes your fancy.

So how do you create a mii ? Well, you wander down to the mii plaza. This is where the mii hang out, waiting to be picked up for the next baseball game. There is a button on the left of the screen that lets you create a mii. From this point you can get creative.

You build your new mii character, like it is some kind of bionic man (or woman). You specify all pertinent details like the name and sex. You can enter the height and weight of the character. You can then go onto to creating the face, that is the most obvious part of an mii in game play.

This is heaps of fun as you create your Dr. Jekyll or Mr Hyde (or should that be Frankenstein). Should it have a bouncy afro or a flouncy hippy hairstyle. You can select the color of the skin, hair and eyes. You can add all sorts of facial looks like the shape of the eyes, mouth, nose, eyebrows. You can add beauty marks, facial hair and accessories like glasses or earrings.

It's a bit of fun, but when you have a few miis that feature in your game play, it can add to more originality to the game. You can identify with your the character and get more into the game.

Another mii feature is to mingle. You can send your mii off and it will pop up on another persons console and play them at tennis or boxing or such like. The same goes for you too. One day a mii will pop in and challenge you to a game of bowling. You see how other people look and give you more ideas for your next mii character.
